Already over 4000 years ago bulgur groats and its properties were appreciated by people of the Middle East. It supports the functioning of the nervous system, improves our mental agility and mood. Bulgur is perfect in its dry version, but we can also prepare it sweet – with the addition of milk, honey, fruit, dried dates or figs. It is worth knowing that due to its low glycemic index, this groat is suitable for diabetics, children, athletes and people on a diet.
Rinse the groats in plenty of water. Then pour it into a pot and cover with salted boiling water in the proportion 1:2.5 (2.5 cups of water for 1 cup of groats). Cook uncovered for about 7 minutes. Then remove from heat, cover and leave to swell. Enjoy!
