Spelt flour has been known for thousands of years. Archaeological sources indicate that as early as the Bronze Age, primitive societies were able to grow spelt. In the Middle Ages it was the most popular grain in Europe. Later slightly underrated, today it comes back to favor thanks to its health-promoting properties. Spelt flour is rich in protein, fiber, iron, magnesium and vitamins B3 and B6.
Spelt flour is ideal as an addition to baking cakes, bread, home-made pasta, pancakes and dumplings.
