Did you know that red beans, due to the shape of their beans, are also called cashew beans? Available all year round, with plenty of nutritional value, they have become very popular in many cuisines around the world. What are the benefits of including red beans in your daily menu? It lowers cholesterol levels and provides us with virtually fat-free, high-quality protein. What’s more, its high fiber content prevents blood sugar from rising too quickly after a meal, making it a good choice for people with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycemia.

A method of preparing:

Soak the beans in cold water for about 10 to 12 h beforehand. After the required time, rinse, then pour into boiling water. Cook until tender, about 50 to 60 minutes, add salt at the end of cooking. Enjoy!
